The award-winning low-fare airline Virgin America will welcome its first flight into Boston from San Francisco on February 11th - with a red carpet welcome by Virgin Group Founder and President Richard Branson and Virgin America CEO David Cush. Tickets are on sale for daily flights from LAX (Los Angeles) and SFO (San Francisco) to Boston's Logan International Airport starting on Feb. 11th, 2009.

Fares start at $109 one way in main cabin, $570 one way in the carrier's new main cabin select premium service, and from $999 in its upscale first class cabin. The discount airline says it will inject some healthy competition into a market that currently offers no low-fare carrier service from either LAX or SFO to BOS. Virgin America will have two daily roundtrips from SFO to BOS and three daily roundtrips from LAX to BOS.

Since launching in August of 2007, the San Francisco-based airline has captured a list of industry best-in-class awards, including "best domestic airline" in Conde Nast Traveler's 2008 Readers' Choice Awards and Travel + Leisure's 2008 World's Best Awards. All Virgin America flights to Boston will feature inflight WiFi as a standard feature.
